After months of preparation and endless hours working out every last detail for the most romantic and exciting day of your life, you may have neglected your bridal beauty routine. Not to worry, Mobile Beauty Co. have put together a no-fail plan to help you achieve that beautiful bridal glow! Whether you’re the bride, a bridesmaid, or a guest, you can follow these steps for a radiance that will turn heads!

1). DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO START YOUR BRIDAL BEAUTY ROUTINE

The more time you have to correct tired, dull, lifeless looking skin, the better. If you’re correcting acne or more serious skin issues, you should work with a dermatologist at least 4 months ahead. If it’s tired, dull skin you wish to banish, you’ll want to start your beauty routine around the time that the RSVP’S start rolling in! Things like deep peels, skin needling, injectables and any “deep” treatments that require down time should be done a MINIMUM of one month before the big day. Lighter treatments such as light peels, microdermabrasion, facials etc should be done a minimum of one week before the “I Dos”. Your skin needs time to regenerate and whilst it may seem like a good idea to go hard right before the big day your best bet is multiple treatments spanning over a longer time frame.

2). DON’T DO ANYTHING DRASTIC

The ultimate beauty goal for most brides is to look like themselves, but better. Many brides get carried away with harsh invasive, plastic surgeon / doctor administered procedures to diminish all signs of aging. Not only do you risk having a bad reaction to a procedure with serious downtime, you can also look like a completely different person. Bruising, swelling and other post procedure symptoms on your wedding day? No thanks!

You want to look like the beautiful person that your partner is expecting to walk down the aisle.

3). GENTLY EXFOLIATE EVERY OTHER NIGHT

The important step for glowing skin is exfoliating, and it is best to do this before bed every other night leading up to the big day. Exfoliating can help combat dull-looking skin because it gets rid of the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This step is also vital if you are gong down the road of a spray tan for the big day. To achieve a smooth flawless base you must buff away the unwanted dead skin cells. By doing this, your moisturising products and serums will work more effectively as well as they are able to reach the lower layers of the dermis faster.

While we age, and particularly during stressful moments (like planning a wedding!), we lose the ability to shed these older cells, exfoliation either manually, mechanically or chemically will help boost your cell turnover and renewal and give you that younger looking glowing skin your after.

Beautiful bridal makeup begins with a great base for the foundation- no foundation (no matter how high end) will look perfect without a smooth base, so get scrubbing!

4). START A GLOW-INDUCING BEAUTY CURE

There are a lot of products on the market that promise glowing skin, vitamin boosting skincare treatments have become more and more popular with the modern day bride.

Vitamin boosting capsules are designed to give you hydrated, glowing skin that lasts for weeks. Aim to find a brand that contains Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C and Copper Gluconate. Pair this with a night time session with a Dermaroller.

Dermarollers stimulate new cell growth, for plump juicy skin we recommend a light rolling over the entire face once every evening. This duo can be more effective than most creams!

5). START INCORPORATING HYDRATING FOODS INTO YOUR DIET NOW!

No matter what skin type or issue you may have, our skin and body crave water. Drinking water is great, but eating foods that are naturally hydrating can do wonders for the complexion as well. Foods rich in color are also rich in hydrating components as well as those antioxidants for anti-ageing. Foods like watermelon, grapefruit, cucumbers, tomatoes and kale are basically eatable glow boosters! A good rule is to include an additional two water-rich fruits or veggies in your diet. When you do this, you will be supplying your skin with the hydration it needs to stay young, smooth and radiant. As a bonus, incorporating some of these hydrating food will help regulate your digestion and prevent stress-related bloating. Do you need more convincing?

6). SCHEDULE IN SOME EXTRA BEAUTY SLEEP

For most of us, stress equals sleepless nights with a lot of tossing and turning. While there is little to do to avoid the sleepless couple of nights leading up to the wedding, you can store up on sleep now. If you have trouble sleeping due to stress, incorporate some natural remedies in your bedtime routine.

Lighting some lavender incense, taking an aromatherapy bath with candles and essential oils, utilise guided sleep meditation hypnosis, schedule in lazy weekends, nap whenever you can, and say no to any social outing that may result in shortened rest. You will have plenty of time to catch up with your loved ones on the big day, take care of you, and get glowing, rested-looking skin in return.

7). BOOST YOUR NATURAL GLOW WITH A TAN

To avoid looking a shade of orange on your big day, start your tan plan! Trial the different solutions to be sure that the color suits you and your skin tone, you can even time these trials for events like you Hens, Make Up Trial or Dress Fittings- two birds with one stone!

Opt for a more hydrating solution that contains botanicals like Aloe Vera, and coconut, these elements extend your tan time and keeps that nasty blotchy fake tan look well away. Our favorite, at Mobile beauty Co, is our famous St Tropez Classic Tan- designed to maintain a healthy glow for longer, flawless coverage and perfect depth of color. One of our Bridal Tans paired with a flawless application by one of our glow specialists and you’re ready to say “I do”.

8). BE HAPPY

The final and most important step! Be happy and enjoy your day because it will be over before you know it. Don’t stress the small stuff and SMILE! You’re getting married!!
